Jon Kemppainen

Fiddle, violin, multi-instrumentalist vocalist originally from Raleigh, NC.

Jon relocated to Austin from North Carolina where he played and recorded with touring bands such as The Squirrel Nut Zippers (retro swing), The Two Dollar Pistols (honky-tonk), and The Trout Band.

He also fronted his own western swing band called the TimeHoppers. Jon's been very active in the Austin music scene, playing with the Hard to Make a Living bluegrass band and with some of the areas best musicians including Alvin Crow's Hard Core Honkytonk Band.

Jon has been playing music since age 7. He played classical violin through his freshman year at the University of North Carolina and then decided to expand his violin style to include bluegrass and swing fiddle.
